Dr. Priscilla J. Slanetz, MD MPH FACR FSBI FAAWR FAUR

Dr. Slanetz is Professor of Radiology at Boston University School of Medicine. As a practicing
breast radiologist at Boston Medical Center, she provides breast care to the most vulnerable
patients in the city as part of a multidisciplinary team. Her clinical research interests lie in
healthcare disparities, breast MRI, contrast-enhanced mammography, and artificial intelligence.
Her educational interests focus on curricular development and assessment and faculty
development. To date, she has over 200 publications and has given over 100 regional and
national presentations. She currently serves on the Editorial Executive Committee of Academic
Radiology and is a distinguished reviewer for Radiology, American Journal of Roentgenology,
Journal of the American College of Radiology, and Journal of Breast Imaging. Nationally, Dr.
Slanetz is Chair of the Society of Breast Imaging Mentorship Committee, Subspecialty Chair of
the American College of Radiology Appropriateness Criteria Breast Imaging Panels, President-
Elect of the Association of University Radiologists, and Immediate Past President of the
Massachusetts Radiological Society. She is a Fellow of the American College of Radiology,
Society of Breast Imaging, American Association for Women Radiologists, and Association of
University Radiologists. In 2020 she received the Alliance of Clinician Educators in Radiology
(ACER) Achievement Award.

Marguerite M. Care, M.D.

Marguerite M. Caré, MD, is a pediatric neuroradiologist and has been a member of the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center radiology faculty since 1998. She has served on departmental committees where her primary interests have been in medical student education and projects related to dose reduction in CT. Dr. Caré has also served as a representative to the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center child abuse team since 1998. Her areas of interest and expertise include neuroimaging of trauma and abusive head injury/child abuse.

Neil J. Mardis, D.O., is a Pediatric Radiologist for the Children’s Mercy Hospital.  Dr. Mardis oversees the medical 3D printing services at Children’s Mercy Hospital. Experienced in the creation of printable .stl files from original DICOM data. Utilizing fused deposition modeling printers to create models for diagnostic aids, surgical planning, research phantoms, and durable medical goods.  Currently printing with various materials including ABS, PLA, nylon bridge, TPE/TPU, and PCTPE.

Amy Patel, M.D.

Dr. Amy K. Patel is a Board-Certified Radiologist who specializes in Breast Imaging. She is the Medical Director of the Women’s Imaging Center at Liberty Hospital and is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. 

 

Dr. Patel is a graduate of the combined BA/MD accelerated program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She completed her Diagnostic Radiology Residency at the University of Kansas-Wichita where she served as the first female chief resident in an all male program. She completed her Breast Imaging Fellowship at Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology Washington University in Saint Louis. 

 

Dr. Patel's professional interests include recruitment of women in radiology, as she established the American College of Radiology (ACR) Resident and Fellow Section Women and Diversity Advisory Group when she was in training and now serves on the ACR Commission for Women and Diversity. She is also on the steering committee for RADxx, an initiative to recruit women into imaging informatics and to promote the advancement of women leaders. She also currently serves as Secretary on the American Association for Women Radiologists Board of Directors. Her interests also include mentorship, social media, also serving on the social media committee for the Society of Breast Imaging, and leadership, being a former recipient of the Radiology Leadership Institute Summit Scholarship and serving on the RLI Speakers circuit and assists in developing programming. 

 

She also has an avid interest in radiology political advocacy, serving on the RADPAC Board and as Vice Chair for the ACR Radiology Advocacy Network. She is also a former ACR Rutherford Lavanty Fellow in Government Relations. She is also the first female and youngest radiologist recipient of the ACR Howard Fleishon MD Advocate of the Year Award.

Sonia Ghei, M.D.

Sonia Ghei, MD completed her Diagnostic Radiology training at University of California-Davis and Neuroradiology fellowship training at Johns Hopkins University Medical Center.  She is positioned as a Neuroradiologist in Redwood City, CA within Kaiser Permanente’s Neurosurgery center for the San Francisco Bay area.  Her interests include Advanced and Pediatric Neuroimaging and currently serves as the Stroke imaging liaison.  She maintains an active role in neuroradiology education and has participated in faculty and educational committee positions at ACR and RSNA.

Dr. Elliot K. Fishman, MD

Dr. Elliot K. Fishman is Director of Diagnostic Imaging and Body CT at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he is Professor of Radiology, Surgery, Urology and Oncology.  Dr. Fishman’s clinical and research interests have focused on advanced medical imaging with specific emphasis on CT and 3-Dimensional imaging. Recent emphasis has also been focused on Deep Learning in Medical Imaging as Co-PI of the Felix Project for Early Detection of Pancreatic Cancer.  Dr. Fishman’s work in CT has resulted in over 1200 peer reviewed publications, and he has been the co-author of 10 textbooks.  Dr. Fishman’s research team has been one of the leading groups in developing new techniques and technologies, whether in visualization or post processing or in education.  Dr. Fishman has expertise in computer and web-based education, developing the website, www.ctisus.com, which currently has over 300,000 users, as well as its Facebook version which has over a million followers from over 190 countries. Dr. Fishman and his team have also developed 14 iPad programs for the Apple store.

Dr. Fishman has also won numerous honors and awards, including the Best Educator Award from RSNA in 2009, the Aunt Minnie Educator Award for 2001, 2004, 2014, 2017 and the Aunt Minnie Research Award in 2007, and the Aunt Minnie Award in 2016 and 2017 for best computer app.  Dr. Fishman was inducted into the Miller-Coulson Academy at Johns Hopkins in 2015 for Clinical Excellence in Medicine. In addition, he received the Consultant of the Year Award at Hopkins in 2016.

Dr. Fishman is also the co-founder of HipGraphics Inc. which has been a leader in 3D software development for the past three decades.

Wednesday, February 7, 2018: "Percutaneous Cryoablation for Renal Cell Carcinoma: Safety, Efficacy and Current Evidence"

Christos Georgiades, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Georgiades earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 1989.  He spent the next four years doing graduate research at the University of California, Irvine earning an MS and a PhD in Radiological Sciences.  His medical training was at Boston University, graduating in 1997.  This was followed by 1) a medical internship at Beth Israel-Deaconess Medical Center at Harvard School of Medicine (1997-98), 2) a diagnostic Radiology residency (1998-2002) and 3) an Interventional Radiology Fellowship (2002-03), both at Johns Hopkins Hospital.  Dr. Georgiades joined the IR faculty at Johns Hopkins in 2003.  He served in that division continuously since then, except for a 3-year private practice stint in Europe 2012-15.  His research interest focuses on minimally-invasive treatments for kidney and liver cancer.  More recently he has been developing a multidisciplinary dysautonomia center at Hopkins.  His publication record includes more than 80 manuscripts, 36 book chapters and many abstracts and scientific presentations.  He delivered many invited lectures around the Nation and the World.  He is an active member of the Society of Interventional Radiology, the World Congress of Interventional Oncology and other societies and is a frequent invited guest speaker, moderator, session and workshop chair.
